Afraid of Hell?

"Heaven is not a place for those who are afraid of Hell."
-Matt Chandler, the Village Church

I listened to this pastor throughout college and would spend drives in between Dallas and College Station listening to the wisdom God has blessed him with. Last Sunday Ktnaomi and I heard an incredible sermon at the Village. We heard all about how we can only do so much to help someone on their walk to find Christ; we can supply all the information that we want, but at the end of the day "only the Holy Spirit of God can ignite (what we plant.)" This is hard to remember and really take to heart when you have loved ones in your life who are missing out on the best part of life.

Often times a friend has mentioned that they don't want to just be intimidated into becoming a Christian, because then it's not real. I completely agree, and yet it's so hard to sit back and wait on when they will encounter the Holy Spirit. I guess that's one of the biggest ways God can test our faith in him, with not letting us know the eternal fate of a loved one...and all the while trusting that God has everything taken care of.

"Preach the gospel always, but only when necessary use words."
St. Francis of Assisi

I got a whole new take on this quote after church on Sunday. I used to be a big believer in it until...Matt Chandler said (by you going out to dinner and not ordering a beer or not using curse words, people are not just going to look at you and be like "That's what I want!!"). So true! Eventually, you will have to open your mouth and speak the truth for people to hear it.

Haiti...hard to believe some of them have never even had the opportunity to hear the truth. Can you imagine that? Seriously...take a second and imagine what it would be like to never hear about God, Jesus, church, the cross...any of it...ever.

Then, pray.
